Your school or facility may identify additional information about a referral that is needed for local decision making, district/state reporting, or other purposes. Because Custom Fields are a School Setting, school-wide agreements should be made about how to best utilize these fields within SWIS.
To modify an existing custom field:
- In the Custom Fields section, double-click the Custom Field you want to edit.
- In the Edit Custom Field screen, update the field Label, Identifier, or Item(s) as appropriate.
If you need to merge field items:
- Select the item to keep and click Merge.
- The Merge Field Items screen will open.
- Select the item to remove.
- Click Merge. This will update all existing referrals to use the item label that was kept.
