What’s New in TFI 3.0?

TFI 3.0 is a major update designed to better align with current PBIS practices. Key enhancements include:

Expanded 5-point scale for more accurate scoring and action planning.
Stronger emphasis on equity, mental health supports, and classroom implementation.
Three distinct tiers:
- Tier 1: Universal PBIS Features
- Tier 2: Targeted PBIS Features
- Tier 3: Intensive PBIS Features
Improved guidance tools like the Item Crosswalk and Conversion Tables to help teams transition from TFI 2.1.

Implementation Tips

Teams are encouraged to assess all three tiers during initial implementation.
Use the PBIS Assessment web app for streamlined reporting and action planning.

For student, family, and staff engagement the point scale for 4 states:
A representative group(s) of families and community members (or students, or staff) is actively engaged in the selection and interpretation of school and community data to identify potential systemic barriers and provide input on the selection, implementation, and adaptation of all foundational Tier 2 practices and interventions at least twice per year, and if data indicate a problem, an action plan is developed to enhance or modify foundational Tier 2 practices.
